All takers and styles welcome as long as the combat is continued to completion.

Dyew sat cross legged at the center of a meditation garden.  The sand was raked into intricate patterns around natural free standing stones.  The garden was meticulously cared for.  He sat erect, bare chested and bare footed.  Linen breeches cinched around his hips and his ankles.  Two pairs of iron wood bokken rested on a rack nearby.

Shin walked purposefully towards the Zen Garden his opponent was patiently waiting in, he was already running late and he knew it. He wore his blue kimono and a white hakama but opted out of sandals this day, preferring bare feet to rigged sandals. On his left hip was the Shiden Blade, his ancestral weapon and Shins most trusted companion across his back he wore another Katana, this one crafted to the shape of a dragon, a much more intricate design then the Shiden Blade.

He soon came upon where his opponent was waiting and bowed once quickly “Excuse my tardiness.” He quickly removed both swords and their respective scabbards and set them off to the side, like his opponent he decided to wear no top and neatly folded that and set it next to his weapons.

Shin was by no means a large man he stood no more than five and a half feet tall and didn’t weigh more than a hundred and fifty pounds. However, his most distinguishing feature was his hair, it’s azure color made him easy to spot in most crowds. This too was neat and organized, pulled back into a top knot so strands would remain out of his view for the fight.

It took several minutes but Shin was ready, he had moved his way near the rack where the wooden bokkens rested.
“Are you ready?”

Dyew nodded and made his way to the weapon rack as Shin reached it.  He took hold of a pair of bokken, one in each hand and then moved away from Shin.  The warden briefly stretched his arms and then took up his stance.  His left foot had lead with his left hand holding that weapon diagonal at chest level.  The trailing foot was positioned shoulder width apart behind him.  This caused his body to turn and put his left side to Shin.  His right hand held his other bokken high.  He waited for Shin's action.  The distance between the two combatants was no more than five meters.

Shin smiled widely as Dyew grabbed two bokkens and did likewise. He didn’t step away like his opponent did, instead he took up his own fighting stance by turning right side to face Dyew with his right arm holding the weapon low and in front of him with the tip high and the left arm held high with the weapon perched over his head. Had the left bokken been a real katana the blade would have been facing the sky with its pointed end directed at Dyew.

Once the Warden took up his fighting stance Shin nodded only once and began quick measured steps towards him. He was not running but nor was Shin taking his time, he only moved after the other foot was securely planted these practiced movements would close the gap between the two warriors within a few seconds, giving Dyew the time he needed to prepare for the fight.
